The term “Phase” is used to describe the difference in time between the troughs of two cycles. Much of the time, the most convenient way to measure phase is via a difference in units of time, however, phase can also be measured in degrees.
This (measuring phase in degrees, rather than units of time) is most commonly seen in Gann analysis.
